Using priorities in Jira

Asmo Tuomisto October 30, 2012

Hi!

I have few question of priorities in Jira.

In our Jira we have the default priorities:

  • Blocker
  • Critical
  • Major
  • Minor
  • Trivial

Those priorities are in every project and in every issue types.

Could I modify priorities for a certain project or issuetype? Like that in project A with issuetype Task, there is only priorities from Critical to Trivial. While in project B with issuetype Bug there is priorities from Blocker to Major.

I quess those priorities are totally global type; they all are in every project and in every issuetypes..?

Hi Zacharias,

this is one of the oldest and most wanted features for Jira. Look here to get an idea, what you can do: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-3821

Hi Asmo,

you can try Extended Schemes for JIRA, which allows you to limit number not only priorities but also resolutions and link types in context of project and issue type.
