Users receiving "Forbidden: You do not have permission to make this request" error

David Witherspoon December 29, 2014

We ran into some issues and had to restore our system from a backup. Now users are getting this error when viewing/updating/resolving issues. When they close the error, any action they were trying to do succeeds so it's not preventing any actions. Anybody seen this behavior?

Hi David,

Would you happen to be using the Zephyr plugin? If so, could you please try to disable it and see if the problem persists?

In case this does not resolve the problem, I would recommend you to raise a support ticket, attaching a Support Zip with your JIRA logs so we can investigate further what might be causing this problem.

Sincerely,

Danilo

Hi Danillo, you win. When we restored, Zephyr came back even though we had disabled it last month. Disabling again seems to resolve

Hi David,

Based on the information given, it is hard to say exactly why the error you are seeing is being thrown.  That could be coming from a third-party plugin or from an application link or something else.  It is hard to tell.

You may want to consider opening up a ticket with us here in Support so we can look at your issue in more detail.  You can do this at https://support.atlassian.com.

Please be sure to include a screenshot of the errror message, a [Support Zip|https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Getting+Help#GettingHelp-CreatingaSupportZip], and any other details that would be helpful.  You had mentioned that you were running into issues and had to restore.  It would be a good idea to let us know what those issues were and the steps you took to fix them.

Thanks smile
