We are currently on 6.1.4. Is the issue regarding displaying user names instead of display name been fixed in the newer versions? If we upgrade to 6.2.2, will we still have the same issue?
It is not fixed. Some databases allow you to change the collation for an individual columns as well.

The issue we have is the following:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Username+is+Displayed+in+Issue+View+Page+After+Upgrade+JIRA
This page recomments changing the database collation to utf8_bin. This means changing the charcter set of every table in the ddatabase. I wanted to know if this issue has been fixed in versions later than 6.1.4. Thanks
