Use Google account to sign into self hosted Bamboo?

Sean Wilson September 19, 2012

I would like our users to be able to sign into our self-hosted Bamboo server using their Google account. Is this possible? I thought Crowd would be able to help here but it seems Crowd only allows you to sign into Google apps via Crowd itself and not the other way around. Is this interpretation correct?

We already use Jira OnDemand which allows Google account sign ins and would like something similar for Bamboo. Also, can we somehow get single sign on working between our Jira OnDemand server and self-hosted Bamboo server?

Hi, this isn't currently possible. Yes, Crowd only allows signing to Google Apps not the other way around. Hence, you will not able to do this with Bamboo.

JIRA OnDemand cannot interact with an externally hosted Bamboo - both in terms of Application linking and users.

The best solution here would be to externally host JIRA and Bamboo and have Bamboo authenticate from JIRA user directory or you can add Crowd depending on the number of users you have.

However, this would not allow you to use your Google accounts either.
