Upgrading Jira 4.4.4 32 bit to Jira 6 64 bit

I would like to uprgade Jira to version 6, 64 bit, and do so on the same machine. Is it possible to upgrade the existing installation as opposed to installing Jira 6 and restoring data separately then uninstalling Jira 4?

Yes, it is possible to upgrade from 32bit to 64bit by upgrading JIRA manually. You can upgrade JIRA directly from JIRA 4.4.x to JIRA 6.1.6, however in some cases it is advisable to upgrade to JIRA 5.x first before proceed for 6.1.6. We strongly recommend to upgrade on a Testing environment first.e
