Upgrading JIRA from 5.2.1

Nilesh Nichal May 2, 2017

Hi,

We are trying to upgrade JIRA from 5.2.1 to 6.4 version. After completing upgrade it is giving an error message that,

"The current license is too old to install this version of JIRA".

Could you please suggest till what version we can upgrade our JIRA?

Thanks,

Monali

To figure it out you would need to go on https://my.atlassian.com, and check when the maintenance expired, then check the dates on the releases on https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download-archives to see which version came out before the maintenance expired. Licensing & Purchasing FAQ has more details.

Since the versions you mention have reached End of Life (Atlassian Support End of Life Policy) and are no longer eligible for support, it would be a good idea to look into renewing maintenance.

If you are just testing the new features in anticipation of upgrading you may generate an evaluation license at https://my.atlassian.com.
