Upgrading JIRA from 5.1 to 6.2

Dambar April 14, 2014

Currently we have JIRA 5.1 installed on our prod and we are trying to upgrade JIRA to 6.2(latest) version on our prod env. One question I have is that mysql with 5.5.25a version will be ok for it or do I need to upgrade our db as well. Other is do I need to have any jdbc connector that needs to be placed on JIRA home directory on lib directory or not.

I am just trying to upgrade the version of JIRA but try to left db and other as it is So can some one clarify that to me.

JIRA supports MySQL 5.x (excluding 5.0), so the version is okay.

  • The MySQL driver is no longer bundled with JIRA, as of JIRA 5.2. Please see the JIRA 5.2 Upgrade Notes for reasons why we do not bundle this driver.
