Upgrade jira

Merve Akınlar April 20, 2014

Hi,

Our company is upgrading jira 4.2.2 to 6.2.1 And also we will start to work with active directory users not with internal jira users.

After upgrading jira, we want to work only with active directory user, but we are using internal user for more than 3 years. We want to migrate internal users (all issues for these users, closed issues also) to active directory users.

I want to ask you 2 questions about it;

For upgrading, what points should we noticre?

For migration, what should we notice for not to loose any data? How can we migrate all issue to new users?

Thank you for your support,

Regards,

Hi Merve,

in order to upgrade JIRA, you should follow this link https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Upgrading+JIRA. Atlassian Partners could help you on that.

In order to migrate issues throght users, you should perform some bulk operations before remove jira internal users.

Hope this helps.
