Updating Password of Active Directory Connection Service Account

Marty Williams November 16, 2017

Having some trouble finding the area in the admin section to update the service account password that connects to Active Directory.

Got ingoing and outgoing mail connections going fine, but after changing the password the LDAP connection broke down and nobody could log in.

I get the feeling that i will need to re-add the connection in order to be able to use a different password.

TIA.

Marty,

Note that you cannot be logged into the user directory you are making changes to.

Hi Marty,

Provided you have the Jira Administrator rights, you should be able to find this under the System Gear Icon -> User Management -> User Directories.   Configuring user directories also explains how you can navigate to this section in Jira in order to update this.

If all that has changed is the LDAP admin password, you should just be able to change this in the existing configured directory listed in Jira to make this work.   Atlernatively, recreating an entirely new directory could also resolve this as well.

Regards,

Andy
