Trouble with default assignee

At the moment we have a project with a project lead who is automatically the default assignee for any incoming issues. When an issue is re-assigned to lets say me, and a child issue is created, the child issue is still assigned to the project lead, not to me. Is there any settings that would allow me to make sub issues or child issues automatically be assigned to the value of the assignee field in their parent issues?

Thank you.

The JIRA Misc Workflow Extension plugin has a post function to set a field value to the parent's field value, Please read here: https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JMWE/JIRA+Misc+Workflow+Extensions+Documentation#JIRAMiscWorkflowExtensionsDocumentation- You would have to add this post function to the create transition of your subtask workflow

Search for "initial transition" at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Workflow to see how you can add functions to the create transition
