Transparent authentication via Active Directory

Mikhail Sukmanov March 10, 2015

Hello,

We need help with a transparent authentication for JIRA & Confluence products. We are using these software on our own servers (self-hosted licenses).

Users and groups of JIRA and Confluence are syncing from Active Directory server. We would like to configure a transparent authentication, so we will be able to log in to JIRA or Confluence without the typing of user's passwords.

How can we do this?

Thank you for the advance.

Hi Mikhail,

As per described on this article, you will need to use a custom authenticator, in order to have the integration between Active Directory and Atlassian working. On this case, I can suggest you to experiment the AppFusions SSO Authenticator for AD/ADFS/LDAP and Atlassian Servers (via Kerberos or SAML2) or consider writing your own authenticator using the Seraph library, as per instructions here.

I hope it helps! smile

Regards,
