Translate Create issue button text

Enrique Cadalso January 2, 2014

Hi,

I am creating a language pack to change "Create Issue" to "Create Ticket". I have managed to change the "Issue" word everywhere in JIRA (6.1.4) but I cant find where the "Create Issue" button/menu caption is defined inside the language pack. I downloaded it from https://translations.atlassian.com/, JIRA-6.1.4-language-pack-en_US.jar.

From https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/218718/how-to-rename-the-title-like-creatissue-and-issue I added

menu.issues.new.issue = Create issue

to com/atlassian/jira/web/action/JiraWebActionSupport_en_US.properties, but that didn't work. That key menu.issues.new.issue is not in the language pack.

So, where is the "Create Issue" text defined in JIRA 6.1.4?

Thanks.

The key you are probably looking for is "alt.text.createnewissue".

You can use instructions from the following page to find a message key: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/TRANS/How+to+fix+incorrect+JIRA+or+Confluence+translation

You can also try our InProduct translation plugin to translate messages directly in JIRA: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.translations.jira.inproduct

Hi Jacek,

I added the alt.text.createnewissue key to the com/atlassian/jira/web/action/JiraWebActionSupport_en_US.properties and it did the trick.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Cheers

Enrique.
