Transitioning within the same column

Tiago Fernandes April 2, 2015

Hi,

I was wondering if there is any recent developments on the ticket https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-3573, which requests for drag'n'drop transition within a single column when multiple statuses are mapped to the same column in a board.

The ticket, as well as all related tickets, are closed. The last Atlassian comment on the ticket I mentioned was one year ago, where it was said there was no plans to address this issue within the following 12 months. Now that the 12 months are passed, maybe there are some new developments on this issue?

I do know about the '.' shortcut workaround, but drag'n'drop is much better for usability. Right now, for long workflows, one needs to choose between usability (don't map multiple statuses in a single column) or visibility (map multiple statuses).

Hi Tiago,

I've recently raised a feature request regarding this and it was also closed as not a bug and devs also said to use the shortcuts. Here follows the blogs they posted to catch up on that:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AGILE/Using+Keyboard+Shortcuts
http://blogs.atlassian.com/2012/08/jira-tip-of-the-month-dot-and-comma-dialog-shortcuts/

Here's the bug: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-11677

So, I don't think they will be addressing this any time soon. Sorry about that. :/
