To do and In progress sub tasks and stories appear in closed sprints

I executed search using JQL Sprint in closedSprints()

I find multiple stories and sub tasks which are not closed or resolved but are in status of To Do and In progress. Can someone help me in understanding that why they are appearing in the list when ideally they should have moved to to a active sprint or backlog Thanks

Hi Yugank

Could you check the Resoluton field? I think Jira looks at that field when you close a sprint, so you potentially could have a story which has a Status of In Progress but a Resolution of Done (or Closed) which means Jira would have left it in the closed sprint.

This could happen if you reopen a closed story and the Resolution field doesn't get reset.
