We are looking to connect Jira to Confluence and was wondering which versions do they have to be in order for them to work toegther properly?

We currently use a hosted instance of Confluence 5.2.3 and Jira on-demand 6.2. I assume we would have to move Jira to a hosted instance also if we want to connect them, correct? Or can we still do it with Jira being on-demand and Confluence being hosted?

thanks

Your versions are fine, those two will be able to work together.

You don't need to move anything either - you can run both yourself, both on OnDemand (and take advantage of a lot of automatic configuration) or one OnDemand and one self-hosted.

Do you happen to know if there are any advantages of both being on the latest versions? Like would we be missing out on anything by having an older verison of confluence?

Thanks

Only the stuff in the release notes for 5.3 and 5.4 of Confluence.

I'd recommend treating an upgrade and a migration as two separate pieces of work though. Unless your setup is quite simple, doing both in one hit can become quite a large programme of work.
