Time in status

In the basic filter there is a criteria called "Time in Status". What parameters should be entered here? I find it useful monitoring for how long an issue has been in the selected status.

The Time in Status is a Custom Field that belongs to the JIRA Charting Plugin, you can find more information about it's usage at https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/wiki/display/JCHART/JIRA+Charting+Plugin
