Hi @Sushmita Chakraborty

I believe with time spent you mean, the logged hours against a jira issue. You can use Jira Rest API's to pull this data and build on your own custom solution. Or if you would be interested in a mktplace app , take a look at

Worklogs Time Tracking & Timesheets

You can easily view time entries for multiple issues day wise grouped by in a single view. The app allows to filter/Categorize/Group your worklogs data and a timesheet view too to track individual time spent. And what's more it can be easily added as a dashboard gadget.

Hi @Sushmita Chakraborty ,

You can easily view work logs using Jira's built-in time tracking field located in the right panel of the issue view.

Hello @Sushmita Chakraborty ,

In order to track the time spent on each status & each assignee I suggest you use a marketplace app. Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira ,the oldest and leading "Time in Status" app in Atlassian Marketplace, which is developed by my team at OBSS, has several report types that will meet your need.  Our app is available for both Jira Cloud, and Data Center.

Timepiece mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee

Status Duration report which shows how much time each issue spent on each status.

Status Duration in Days.png

Assignee Duration report which shows how much time each assignee spent on each issue.

assignee duration.png If you want a combination of these two you can use Assignee Duration per Status or Status Duration per Assignee reports.

The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.

Timepiece reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs

Visit Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira to experience the full range of features.

If you wish, you can also schedule a live demo. We will provide a comprehensive overview of the application and address any inquiries you may have.

Hope it helps,

Gizem

Hi @Sushmita Chakraborty ,

If you want to track the time spent in a ticket based on ticket status changes, I recommend using reports in the Time in Status app (developed by my team).

You will be able to track the time spent in each status, and, if necessary, create a status group called Resolution Time, etc.

I hope you find this useful!

Hello @Sushmita Chakraborty ,

If you are looking for a more in-depth solution for time tracking of your Jira issues, then on behalf of SolDevelo, I would like to recommend our application called "Worklogs - Time Tracking and Time Reports".

Worklogs allows you to precisely filter the company’s logged work with a wide range of filters such as users, issues, issue types, labels and more. Additionally, you can display the data for a specific date range with a breakdown by day, week, month or year.

Each Jira user in your company can easily log their work time spent on any kind of projects, issues, bugs, sub-tasks etc. from the issue view or straight from the Worklogs report page:

It's also worth noting that the app uses Jira's native time tracing and time logs, meaning that any time tracked previously with this method before its installation will be present in Worklogs.

If you haven't tested our app yet, I invite you to do so - it looks like it should meet your requirements.

You can also book a demo with one of our experts and we will showcase the app and answer any questions you might have, or you can contact us through the portal here.

Regards,
Tomasz

Hi @Sushmita Chakraborty,

What do you mean by "time spent"? The amount of hours logged on the ticket (work log), or simply the time spent since the issue creation (the age of the ticket)?

Danut.

Hi @Sushmita Chakraborty , this depends on how you define "time spent". If you define by time in a given status you could consider an addon app or leverage Automation and a custom fields that record entry and exit date/time. If time spent is the delta between created and resolved then automation and a custom field could be used to calculate the difference.
