I have received a request where the user is asking Global Domain Owner for  a Project, however I had already granted access to the user to Jira and confluence as User and in the project as well.

I would like to know what does Global Domain Owner access is, is there any different procedure to give access to the user.

Hi @Vidya VASUDEVAN

The term "Global Domain Owner" is not a standard permission in Jira. Instead, users requiring broad administrative access may need either Jira System Administrator or Jira Administrator permissions.

  • System Administrators have the highest level of permission, granting full access to system-wide settings and projects. Jira Administrators have most administrative capabilities but with some limitations.

To assign these permissions and learn more - Managing global permissions | Administering Jira applications Data Center 10.1 | Atlassian Documentation

Key considerations

  • Global administrative permissions provide extensive control.
  • For project-specific needs, consider assigning the "Project Administrator" role.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
