The same component in multiple projects

Hi everyone , 

We have multiple projects in a board, but some issues have multiple components that can be the same over the projects . So pls help me to apply the same component to multiple projects , instead of creatingthe same 5-10 components in 10 project.

The Components field is per-project and as such does not extend between projects. Two options: add the same components (as desired) to each project (as desired) OR create a custom field (multi-select) that is global and add the desired 'components' to the field; effectively replacing the Components field.

Hi Sona, 

I am trying to build a dashboard that fetches data from multiple Jira projects and I am facing the same problem you described.  

Referring to your comment on 14/08/2020, can you please advise on how did you solve it? I,e what do you mean by "an app to easily apply the same component o multiple projects" ?

maybe consider - octo-component-versions-subcomponents-and-sync-for-jira

In addition to what @Jack Brickey said, there are also component synchronisation marketplace apps which keep components across different projects in sync.

Hi Ahmed 

I have used https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1221419/octo-component-versions-subcomponents-and-sync-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview. 
However it I needed it only once and after creating the components for all  projects dont use the addon now.
