During the pre-migration check, the following error occurred. Could you please explain the reason for this?

We couldn't check for entities with public access

We found an unexpected error and couldn’t complete the check. We won’t be able to run the migration, and you’ll need to check for the errors manually. Refresh the checks to try again. Contact support if you continue to get this message.

Hi @xiubao_li ,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

This error may occurred because of any below reason. Please check!

1. Public Access Permissions on Issues or Filters

  • What It Means: Some entities in your Jira instance (e.g., filters, dashboards, or projects) might have been configured with public access, making them accessible to anonymous users.
  • Why It Happens: The migration assistant tries to identify these entities but encounters an unexpected issue while performing this validation.

2. System or Data Integrity Issues

  • What It Means: There may be system-level inconsistencies in your Jira instance, such as:
    • Corrupted entities.
    • Missing or incomplete permission configurations.
    • Entities linked to deleted users or groups.
  • Why It Happens: The migration assistant expects clean data but fails to handle unexpected scenarios during validation.

Regards

RK
