We have the issue types of Bug and Test Case.
When a Bug has been fixed and closed we will retest the Failed Test Case which us linked to the Bug.
Usually, the author of the Bug will retest the bug and close the linked Test Case.
But if the Bug is retested and closed by someone else, we end up with Failed Test Cases linked to Bugs that have been closed.
How do I get a list of all Failed Test Cases linked to Bugs that have a statuscategory of Done?
Hi @Steve Toms ,
As you are on Cloud Premium, I'm wondering: Would it not be better to implement an Automation rule that closes linked Test Cases once the Bug is closed? Then you wouldn't have to clean up :) I could help you setup such a rule if you want.
Otherwise, we could try to dive into the issue at hand. Just to validate, is below mock-setup indeed the situation you're dealing with? Or did I misunderstand? Also, I'm curious: Do you happen to have the Scriptrunner plugin from Adapatavist installed on your environment by any chance? They have a lot of options to find these specific linked issues. I'm not sure Jira search options that are available out of the box would fully satisfy your request.
If we could solve it using the Automation Rule I mentioned, then there would be no need to find these tickets in the first place and let Automation take care of it for you.
Hi @Hans Polder thank you for taking the time to answer, sorry it has taken a while to get back to you. We need the tester to close the test case when the bug has been closed so we wouldn't choose to automate this. We don't have the Scriptrunner plugin but I am going to investigate using it as it sounds like it may solve this and a couple of other similar issues. Much appreciated.
