Task has a line through it

Chris Silvey January 5, 2018

For some reason the resolution is marked as Needs Work and the status is marked as In Progress but the task has a line through it as if it is done. Why is this happening?

Hi Chris,

Take a look at the Community post Solved: Open issues are appearing with a strike through on the agile and sprint boards and the Knowledge base article Closed issues show as UNRESOLVED or open issues appear as Resolved with strike through.

Here are the common symptoms that appear to match your scenario:

  1. Issues appears as Strike Through on the Activity Stream but not yet resolved or closed.
  2. An issue has a resolution for an issue that is not resolved.

Take a look at Closed issues show as UNRESOLVED or open issues appear as Resolved with strike through for steps to clear the resolution field to see if this resolves your issue.

Cheers,

Branden

You have marked it as resolved.

If there is any value in the resolution field, Jira sees the issue as resolved.  It doesn't matter if the value is "needs work", "penguin" or even "unresolved", the fact there is a value in there means it is resolved.  Jira strikes out resolved issues in some places to help show you it's resolved.

Your administrators have set that up without understanding how Jira works, and they should change it.
