Synchronize labels between JIRA and Confluence

Dan Hamlin October 5, 2017

We are working on using JIRA to track our work that is generated in Confluence and one problem that we have is that we are running different level of reports in each application (e.g. Open vs. Closed in JIRA and a page properties report in Confluence).  We mention a page within JIRA via the JIRA macro in Confluence.

Due to the different labels between the Confluence Page and JIRA instance, our reports are not getting the right information aligned.  We are currently manually copying and pasting the labels between JIRA and Confluence which is fraught for failure.

Is there a method which can automatically and populate the labels of a Confluence page (which has a JIRA issue macro included in the page) from the linked JIRA instance?  This would allow the JIRA labels to be modified and the Confluence page automatically getting mirrored and search logic which is shared will collect both task status and data status as identified.

We need that capability in our organization as well.
