We currently have a self-installed license, and are looking to switch to a cloud-based subscription before this annual period is over; thus, we do not want to be paying for both simultaneously, while waiting for the self-installed license to expire. We are looking to use some of our payment thus far and invest that into the cloud-based subscription. We were told by customer support that this is possible, but tech support told us no. If anyone has attempted this and has a more definitive answer, we'd love to hear it.
Thanks,
Ben.
Hi Ben,
The two are not actually compatible - with your self installed license, you've purchased a perpetual license that is yours to keep. For the cloud-based solution, you're just paying a subscription fee. Additionally, we do not offer refunds on unused maintenance/support periods (outside of our 30-day refund policy outlined in the Purchasing FAQ), so there is nothing to transfer or apply to a Cloud subscription. In this situation you would be best to move to the cloud solution when your current maintenance is nearing completion.
Cheers,
-dave
