Sub-Projects

Deleted user April 23, 2012

Hi, i wish to know if your product has 'sub-project' ability. i can see where i can create a feature, but this feature must be assigned to someone, so it feels like a task.

we have many projects that in turn have sub-projects(aka whatever word to describe 'features' of project). each sub-project can then have tasks etc.

thx

Another way of doing it is by using the "components" field.

In components we have entered all out subprojects and made that mandatory field for that specific project while creating an issue. Once this is done, its easy to create filters based on componends and feed them to the widgets onto your dashboard.

That is not something supported by Jira. Of course if you want to group projects you can use Project Categories.

If you mean feature as a sub-project, you could use Greenhopper to manager this by defining each feature as an Epic or even Theme.

Or on plain jira, issue linking also depicts this relatioship.

If the segregation is for the functional areas, use Components.
