Structure link sync removing agile epic links

Mr G February 27, 2015

Hey

So we got a fun quirk with our Jira install and Structure.  Basically we have the Agile board and the ability to create "epic links".  However one of our synchronisers is removing this link:

Links (Part of)

Parent issue contains sub-issue
Parent issue JQL: project != DOCS
Sub-issue JQL: project != DOCS
Sync all issues that have links of selected type
Remove sub-issues with no incoming links

So catch 22 here.  We want all "Part of" links to be synced and shown correctly on the structure but this synchroniser is also removing all epic links as they aren't real links (some custom link that comes with the agile board).

What's the best approach to this?

Many Thanks.

Hi Mr G,

Thank you for your question. It's a bit tricky to give you a short answer here and we'll need a few more details regarding your setup to recommend the best solution. Could you please create a support request in our JIRA so we can discuss the details there:

Kind regards,

Hi Nicolas,

Since then we have released a version of Structure with a new mechanism for building dynamic structures called Automation. It allows to address pretty much all the use cases synchronizers covered, but are more intuitive and do not have the problem of conflicts synchronizers have. You can watch a part of the webinar, where we explain how they work here:

Please let me know if this helps. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask here or ar support.almworks.com (or support@almworks.com).

Thanks,

Eugene
