Strange Kanban board view (?)

Doug Stracner September 27, 2022

When Iook at the Kanban board for a Company Managed project the view is not all cards -- like we are accustomed to -- but a mix of cards and listed items.  Anybody know what caused this and how to fix it? (If you were to scroll downward most of what is below cards. Also -- it seems that only subtasks are showing up in the cards.

Hello @Doug Stracner

An Administrator for this board has configured Swimlanes for the board. It looks to me like they selected the Story option. That will create a swimlane for each issue that has Sub-tasks. The parent issue will appear as the header for the swimlane (where you see the expand/collapse arrows) and the Sub-tasks in that issue will show as cards. All issues that have no Sub-tasks will appear as cards themselves at the bottom of the board in a swimlane called "Everything Else".

The Swimlane setting is found by clicking the ... button for the board (in the upper right corner), selecting Board Settings, and then finding the Swimlanes option. Only a person who is an Administrator for the board can access that setting.
