Stories assigned to my new workflow step/status are disappearing from task board

I added a step to a workflow I'm using for a Greenhopper project. I published the workflow and then went to the Task Bar Mapping section of my project's template and selected this new step as something I want in my "In Progress" swimlane of my task board, but when I move tickets to this new status (the step I mention above), it drops from the task board. When I move it to one of the older statuses, it appears again. What could be wrong with this step? (This is an existing step that another team is using, but I also tried with a new step and got the same results.)

I believe the fix was pretty basic: I didn't have the new status in one of the swim lanes.

Could it be that the filter you are using for your task board only contains issues in the old steps?
