Start and Stop jira software running on a windows server

Deleted user January 12, 2018

I always think running as service should be efficient so we don't worry about any commands, just start service , stop service, make this Atlassian service manually run or once it is okay to auto-run, put it into automatic.

However, is there any concern about 'running as service' on a windows server for jira software application ?

Hi Quan,

JIRA is normally run as a Service if you use the installer and per Running JIRA applications as a Windows service you should run this as a service:

For long-term use, JIRA should be configured to automatically restart when the operating system restarts. For Windows servers, this means configuring JIRA to run as a Windows service.

If JIRA is not setup to be run as a Service currently take a look at the Manually setting up JIRA to run as a service section of Running JIRA applications as a Windows service.

Cheers,

Branden
