Sprint started but want to change how many story points are commited...

Olafur Johannsson November 2, 2017

working on JIRA v7.3.1

We have many dev teams which all have their own sprints.
I accidentally started a sprint which had at that time 9 Story Points.
Then during planning meeting we added 11 more Story Points to the sprint.

Now I want to either:
1.) change the Story Points commited
or
2.) delete the current sprint (active), create a new sprint and start that sprint with those 21 story points.

Is 1 or 2 possible???

Hi Olafur

I don't believe that 1 is possible.

For 2, create a sprint as the placeholder, move all issues into it, then delete the active one. You can then rename the placeholder

when doing this will the deleted sprint be visible in Velocity Chart?

I shouldn't think so. Yesterday I was going to say close the sprint, but deleting is better and it shouldn't then show. You should even be able to rename the new sprint to be exactly the same as the old one
