Split project then move

Hampus Fredriksson September 21, 2017

Hi,

I'm trying to move some parts of a project into a new one.

Say I'm having epic A, B, C, D which contains issuses, tasks, and sub-tasks that's going to be a new project. How do I move them in to the new project in the best way?

Hey Hampus,

One way would be to create a Label for each project, and tag all of the appropriate issues with that Label.  You can then create your projects, and bulk change all of the tagged items to the new project by:

- Opening a search and search for the Label (labels = ___)

- Clicking on the "..." symbol in the top right corner and selecting bulk change

- Selecting the "Move" option and then moving all the issues to the new project

(You may need to do this for each issue type).

Hope this helps,

Tyler

Thank you Tyler,

Seems like an easy transfer for all issues, will try it right away.

Follow-up question.

Can I bulk add label to all issues in the epic?

You certainly can.

Just search for parentEpic = (Epic Key) and you can bulk edit the Label field (either replace all existing or add to) for the Epic and all of it's child issues.
