The Slack integration enables you to select a message in Slack and `Create issue from`.
This works well.
What I've noticed... when I `Create issue from` in Slack... some linked projects default to "Epic", while others default to "Task".
How is this controlled? I would like to default my project's issue type to "Task".
I'm using a company managed project... and I've set "Task" to the default issue type on my issue type scheme (link)... but this seems to have no effect on the Slack integration.
Any help is much appreciated.
Hey @Duncan Chung
Good day! :)
When creating new Jira issues through Slack, you are provided with the flexibility to specify the issue type.
In the issue creation process, the dropdown menu for issue types will display all the issue types associated with the project's issue type scheme. This grants you the ability to select the appropriate issue type. Additionally, you have the option to designate a parent issue for the created Jira issue.
To better understand your issue, could you record your screen while creating a new issue in Slack and show me the resulting issue in Jira? This will help me understand your problem better.
I have the same issue.
The default issue type selected in Jira is not the first that apperas in the Slack app when selecting issue type.
I've even tried reorganising them in the issue type scheme.
One type of issue will always be first in the slack app

Same issue here. We're getting tickets created as Epics that should be task and can't find how to change the first/default setting.
