Showing Custom Field in Issue Details

Patrick Sacher June 26, 2017

Hi,

I am new to JIRA and i succesfully added a new custom field (multi text field)  for a project configuration in the Issue details. I also can now create an issue with that new field.

However my custom field is only showing when i edit the Issue or create a new one. And editing 500 + Issues is not funny. Is there any way to show my custom fields in all created issues with a default setting?

I´ve found a few threads about it, but the links are not working

JIRA hides fields that do not have any data in them, to reduce screen clutter.

Most custom fields support a default selection though, so if you put that in, you should find your users will generally put something in.  That's in the custom field configuration.

(The other option is to force empty fields to show, which looks odd and requires code change, whichit never recommended)
