Show coloured bars based on status in timeline view

wesleysingh August 28, 2024

How can i show the bars in the colours related to the status? So for instance if finished, show green bar.  If active, show blue bar.

This was automatically shown in my previous timeline, but that was a business project. Now we are using a software project. I dont know if that makes any difference.

Hi @wesleysingh,

Interesting question! In a Jira (formerly Jira Software) project, the bars are inheriting the color from the color associated with the parent epic issues belong to. You can change the color of the epic by opening it in issue detail view and then selecting a different color:

This then obviously propagates to all issues under that epic and is not a solution for what you are asking.

At the same time, your question seems to suggest you are on a premium plan. In there, you can build advanced roadmaps (under the Plans menu item), where you can decide how you want to color the timeline bars. Coloring by status is an available option there, under view settings.

Hope this helps!
