Set default version for a project?

Hello There,

Is there a way to set a default version for a project? Practically, we have multiple versions available for this project, and we'd like when an issue is created that it's defaulted to version 1.0. Is this something that can be done currently in Jira. We're using jira 5.2.11.

Thank you

You can't do it without coding. You can use javascript if you want to set it as default on the Create dialog or use a listener to set it after the issue is created.

Thank you Jobin. Question, is it available through the gui interface in the latest Jira release? Just wondering.
