Send email notifications when someone moves card to done

Looking for a potential fix in next-gen project

I realize that I can get an email notification by setting myself as the assignee for my "done" column, that way i'm notified when something is moved into that column and assigned to me. I don't necessarily want to change the assignee though - I would just like to know whenever we have a card moved to done.

This is possible using a wonderful free plugin called Automation Lite for Jira. Link 

I have it set up on my wikishare Kanban to notify me when a story / card arrives in my column/lane. The column in my kanban is the status field, so the rule runs as follows:

When: Issue Transitioned to Column Name (e.g. FORMAT (Mike)

Then: Send Email to firstname.lastname@bla.com

With this rule the Assignee and reporter stays the same.

And as you have stated In Next-gen you can set a rule to automatically update the assignee when the story/card moves into your column/lane and I am sure this also sends a notification.
