Script Runner installation questions

Joe July 28, 2014

Hello.

I am new to Jira and am having some issues installing Script Runner.

Info:

I am using Jira 4.0 and am installing an older version of Script Runner. The file is named groovyrunner-1.7.13.jar. I do not have the Universal Pluggin Installer on my instance. And am following this guide to manually install the plug in:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA044/__installing+a+JIRA+plugin+manually?continue=https%3A%2F%2Fconfluence.atlassian.com%2Fdisplay%2FJIRA044%2F__installing%2Ba%2BJIRA%2Bplugin%2Bmanually&application=cac

After restarting, everything seems to be working fine. I can see groovyrunner in the Admin section under Plugins. It is enabled. And I can see the modules. I can even see the added functionality of being able to run scripts on post functions.

I begin to run into errors after that. It seems that the built in scripts are not available, because I cannot see them after clicking add in post function.

After reading around, I am also concerned about not being able to access the "Script Console". I want access to this to enable loging and better solve my issue.

Screenshots:

First: What I see; http://imgur.com/0YQ7M5n. Note the lack of options.

Second; What I should see (the built in functions): http://imgur.com/H9YbCMt. Note the available built in scripts.

Third: The error after clicking the add button; http://imgur.com/6WUH9La;Null pointer:(.

Thanks in advance for any help. I am sorry for breaking any posting conventions.

You will need to look in the application log file and see what if any errors preceeded that. You can post anything relevant here...

I personally won't spend much time looking at this as your jira version is out of support.
