Hello everyone,
We have recently set up Jira Free for our team. In my previous company, I saw that there is the option to create a screen mask for assigning tasks.
We had a rule that triggered a screen mask to open. In this mask, we could set the status, due date, assigned user, and add a comment.
Currently, I can only use this screen mask with the transitions between statuses.
Is there a way to trigger and execute this screen mask through a rule, action, or button?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards
Hi @Noah Gabriel and welcome to the community,
If you want a screen to appear, you can create a transition from a status to that status (2) or you can create a transition from any status to itself (1). See the pictures below.
And you can attach a screen (e.g. test) to these transitions with any field you want.
I hope this is what you meant with 'screen mask'
Thank you very much for your quick reply!
I have already created such transitions and the screen mask already exists.
My question would be whether there is a way to create a button to execute the corresponding screen mask. (See screenshot).
The screen mask should not be linked to a transition and be possible at any time also without a status change.
In this screen you can then enter the status, assigned person, due date and a comment.
You then execute the screen and the new person is assigned.
I have also tried to open the screen mask via a manual trigger rule, unfortunately without success.
Do you know of a possibility?
Thank you very much!
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
In that case you should create a transition from any status to itself, like in my picture at 1.
I've made a gif to show you how you can do this. First go to your workflow and edit it.

Ah now I get it :)
It worked
Thanks a lot for the help!
Kind regards
