Schedule Issues Permission without moving issues on Greenhopper

Michael Horka November 28, 2012

Is there a way to set up our permission scheme so that all JIRA users can schedule issues (edit the due date), but not have the ability to move/rank issues on Greenhopper?

We are currently having a security issue where users can modify the ranking of issues, simply because we need them to have the ability to provide us with a due date.

JIRA version: 5.1.1

Greenhopper version: 5.10.6

There is no way to edit the permission scheme to allow users to have the Schedule Issues permission, but not be able to move issues/change rank on Greenhopper.

Hi there!

Are there any news about this issue?

We are using JIRA 6.4.7 and we've got the same problem. Users should be able to set a due date, but they should not be able to rank issues.

Thanks!

Add Conditions to your workflow transitions that will limit who can perform the transition.

Example - Only users in project role Managers can execute this transition.

This would probably work for any transitions, but changing the rank of issues in Greenhopper is not a transition in a workflow. It only changes the number in the rank field.

Any role can be assigned the "schedule issue" permission. You also need the "schedule issue" permission to drag issues around, check the roles assigned to this permission, they may be Project Lead / Project Role (Administrators) / Project Role (Project Managers) / Project Role (Reporters).

We currently have all of our jira users with the "schedule issues" permission. What we are trying to do however is keep them with this permission, but NOT give them the capability to drag issues around. Is there no way around this?

The schedule issue permisison works the same in GrenHopper 6. You could post a feature request on the atlassian jira tracker, select greenhopper and story and request the schedule issue premission be split out.
