SSO with Jira and Confluence and application linking

Ash March 13, 2014

Hi,

Has anyone had any success with implementing an SOO solution with AD integration and get application linking between Jira and Confluence?

Our Confluence guys have SSO working with spnego, however this doesn't like application linking with Jira. Both our Jira and Confluence instance users are managed externaly through AD.

Thanks

Have you configured both Incoming and Outgoing Authentication? Did you see any error on how JIRA couldn't talk to Confluence?

Alternatively, you can raise an issue at https://support.atlassian.comso that we can investigate this further.

Hi,

We have an issue, whereby application links don't work because of SSO. We've had an Atlassian integrator in to review the issue and they have advised that our SSO solution is preventing the application links from working.

From what they have advised, Confluence can talk to Jira, but Jira can't talk to Confluence.

I believe SSO authentication and Application link are two different things. SSO means that users would only login once to access JIRA/Confluence. While application link is for JIRA/Confluence to communicate with each other. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/APPLINKS/Application+Links+Documentation

Have I miss something?
