I have a website jira.domain.ca

Going to jira.domain.ca works fine and auto logs in.

Going to jira.domain.ca and then going to https://jira.DOMAIN.ca/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/ works fine

Going directly to https://jira.DOMAIN.ca/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/  asks for a login prompt. So single sign on is not working to the subsite / subdirectory when you go directly there.

Obviously, we want to send people to the direct customer portal link. We are using SAML single sign on plugin if that's relevant at all. Is this a bug? i would assume being logged into the parent site automatically shares credentials with all the child sites without having to log into the parent first. please advise.

According to the documentation from the plugin provider, you should be able to enable SSO for customer portal pages by enabling the feature in the plugin settings.  https://wiki.resolution.de/doc/saml-sso/latest/all/further-configuration/single-sign-on-for-jira-service-desk

If you navigate to Admin > Add-Ons > Manage Add-Ons, click on "SAMLSingleSignOn for JIRA" in the lefthand column, and click on the "Redirection" tab you should see this option.

Hmm yes i have that turned on i think, if you mean the setting "Redirect SD Customer Portal".

It does work some of the time, but not all of the time. So if i try and load the page 10 times, 7 it will work and 3 it will just redirect me to the microsoft SSO adfs and give me an error. Seems to fail more in chrome for some reason. But if i then refresh the page it does work.

Is there a particular URL rule i need to be setting up? I think mine are all default.
