Hi

I want to restrict the ability to create filters only to a certain project role say Administrators. Is it possible out of box? any workaround? any plugins?

If not, can we restrict the ability to create filters only to a certain group?

At present anyone who can login can create his own filters which i want to apply restrictions on.

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

You can't restrict the creation of filters, but you can restrict the sharing of filters.

If you go to the global permissions page in the JIRA Administration you'll see a permission called Create Shared Objects. If you give this permission only to your administrators and not your users they should no longer be able to share their filters. So all filters will be considered private and will only be visible for the person that created them.

Best regards,

Peter
