Reserving JIRA/Confluence

Ann Veremeychik August 5, 2013
Hello. We have Jira and Confluence and we need to reserve it. Our Jira have connection with an oracle database. We want to do the following. We will install Jira on two different hosts but it will be started and used only on one of them. And we will make backups lets say every hour. If Jira will crash on this host we will start Jira on second host and import data from last backup. And we wondering will it work or not since we have connection between JIRA and database. Or maybe there is another solution. Or maybe it isn't possible at all.

I think you need to read

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/ATLAS/Failover+for+JIRA

and

Note that the two systems are significantly different. Although the same principles apply, their architecture means that you may well end up with two different setups for the two systems, depends on what you need.
