If it's the system admin account, you can't change it (because you don't own the account and have no rights over it).
If it's one of your user accounts, then make sure another user is in the admin group, just in case, then either rename or delete it.
As administrator, I couldn't rename my username by myself. I had another administrator to rename my username.

On the off chance anyone else encountered this, I was able to change my own username after disconnecting GSuite Once I reconnected and resynced, my updated username was maintained.
