Hi
Priority and resolutions are instance wide.
We want to remove a couple of priorities and resolutions from our jira instance. With open issues it is easy since we can transfer those from the old priority to the new priority using bulk edit function.
However, how do we achieve this for closed issues. We cannot change the priority of a closed issue without re-opening them. (re-opening is not an option since we have 50K issues in closed status)
Does that mean we cannot delete those riorities and resolutions just because they were used by those closed historic issues?
Rahul
In your workflow, you have a property on the Closed step which prevents editing. Remove that property by editing the workflow and you will be able to bulk edit all issues including the Closed ones. After the bulk edit, you can add the workflow property back.
Thanks Jobin, this should work. I will try this.

Hi Rahul,
add a transition from Closed to Closed in this transition add a screen with priority and resolution. Make sure only an admin can use this transition (condition). Then you can do bulk transitioning.
An other option for your resolution is to use workflow properties so you can define which resolutions are available within this workflow (jira.field.resolution.include)
. See here for details.

hi rahul,
you could exclude resolutions by modifiing the workflow properties.
