Remove Portal Only Users


I'm trying JIRA Service Desk to handle request from several customers. My idea was to open one or more projects and add customers to their corresponding project (eg. "Project 1" will have "customer 1" & "customer 2" and "Project 2" will have "customer 3").

The problem I've is that when I add one customer to one project, it add automatically to all the projects, and I couldn't find a way to remove this customer ("Portal only user") for the other projects.

I'm doing something wrong? It's not possible to have portal only users to have access to only a set of projects?

to be clear are you adding the customer via System Admin>User management then going to the specific project(s) and looking at your customers (project settings>customers) listed and find that newly added customer in both projects? Or something else?
