Remove Active Directory User

casupport September 2, 2014

We have a few users who have logged into JIRA, but have not done anything in the system. We would like to reclaim those licenses. These are current Active Directory users that have logged in less than 5 times. Some logged in just to test their login. How can we reclaim those licenses?

Mark them as inactive in Jira, then they won't count towards your seats.

That seems to be an option for users stored in the JIRA directory.

Hi there,

You can make them inactive as Nic said, or remove those users from jira-users and jira-administrators group.
Also, there's also de possibility of creating a filter for the LDAP to avoid those users to be imported: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DEV/How+to+write+LDAP+search+filters

Cheers!

Thanks. The users have been removed from the allowed Active Directory groups, but since they logged in the past and still exist in Active Directory, they still appear as a valid user.

Would a filter change that?
