Release backlogs

The new Planning board supports a single backlog.

For the purposes of release planning, one or more release backlogs can be very useful.

Release backlogs can *almost* be supported in the current board simply by naming a sprint after a release. During planning on the Planning board, we can drag stories among the product backlog, the release backlogs, and sprints.

The only thing that is missing is this - we would like to create new sprints for a release above its release backlog. However, the current Planning board does not allow the creation of a new sprint above another, nor does it allow sprints to be reordered. Consequently, to create a new sprint for a release, we're reduced to: create a new sprint above the product backlog, and then manually shift all the stories in each sprint to the sprint below and rename each sprint.

Please consider supporting release backlogs in addition to the product backlog.

Hey there, Andrew.

Perhaps this can be considered as a feature request. The fact that the curent Rapid Board only supports a single backlog is to allow all the issues that are not currently in any sprints to be grouped together under a single list rather than seperating them into different backlogs.

The Parallel Sprints can support several sprints at one time. Try to check on that.

Warm regards,

Danial

Do I need to enter the feature request myself somewhere? The reality is that we have multiple backlogs.

By the way, your second sentence above says p because of p. :)

Hey there, Andrew.

If you want to log it as a feature request, you can do it by going to https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa and log it respectively.

Oh, I got tongue twisted with my own words. My mistake but you get what I meant right? :D

Warm regards,

Danial

Thanks for the link! I added a feature request at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-8179.
