Regarding on usage of jira

Hi, sorry if I asked like this, it is my first time to use this scrum software development ?,..

My questions are.

1) In creating task, or issues. for example I will assign member of the team to create api ,buttons etc...Is this task will be created in "Issues" with the magnifying lens icon ?

2) what is the backlog and active sprints ?

I apologize for being noob on scrum , but I wanted to learn like others do.
