Regarding Configuring issue or comment creation from email

Deeksha Bhojaraj January 28, 2021

We are trying to configure the mail server and the mail handler jira application,

1. We configured the mail server with the below detail,

protocol : SECURE_IMAP
Host Name :outlook.office365.com
IMAP port : 993
Username: our individual username and with password

Tested a connection - The connection was successful.

2. We configured the mail handler with the below detail,

Server : the name of the mail server configured
Handler : Create a new issue or add a comment to an existing issue
next-->
Project, issuetype was filled as required
Bulk: Ignore the email and do nothing

If we are testing then it give the warning- 'No messages in mailbox'.

After these configurations, we tried to send a mail to the username/id configured, but its not getting any issues created in jira
Note: Trying to configure in jira of version v8.13.0

Could you please suggest us what other configurations required to be done additionally?

Thanks in advance!

No, there's no extra configuration, you just need to get the email into the inbox you have specified.

Hi,

Thank you for the response.

It did not get any issue/task created in the jira.

If it's saying "no messages in mailbox", then the email is not getting to the mailbox and you'll need to debug that.
